A Threat in the Air

stereotype threat
Retrived from:  Barry ( 2013)

The autor's previous research have led him to establish the theory of 'stereotype threat', in this paper shows an experiment that seeks to make a social analysis.
At the results, we observed  educational lag  as a result of social discrimination. The method used by the author is an ethnographic study , which seek the analysis of groups that are different or segregated , as was done in the experiment.

Regarding stereotypes, there not only cause a delay or segregation in the school area , there are also cases documentaddos repercussions at the workplace and in health.
According to Petit and Prat (n.d.) stereotypes of masculinity and femininity influenced the onset of symptoms and diseases in adolescence. they also think that there is a correlation between the prevalence of stereotypes and demand for health.(p. 2)

Research results agree despite being different research approaches, it is important that both pathways has been observed that stereotypes affect school development, but more important, it produce perverse effects of higher grade in subsequent dimensions of the person.
